In a semifinal matchup of the Rio de Janeiro Interscholastic Sports League (RJISL), the Falcons narrowly defeated EARJ’s Panthers 20-19, showcasing remarkable resilience despite being shorthanded. The game, held in the panthers homecourt, was a true test of resolve and cooperation.
Falcon’s centre Brenno Biagi was a key player in the Falcons’ victory. After the final buzzer, he expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance. “We showed incredible poise under pressure,” Brenno said. “It wasn’t easy being short on players, but everyone stepped up when it mattered most. This win is a testament to our hard work and determination.”
With this victory, the Falcons move on to the local league finals, where their opponent has not yet been determined. Despite this, the team is still optimistic that they will defeat whoever steps up. Not only that, but as the ISSL gets underway the following week, morale and expectations increase dramatically.
